Managing Bucket Quotas

No quotas are allocated by default for the buckets that are created by users. Buckets and objects that are created by users are charged by used storage space. OBS provides the bucket quota function to control the capacity of objects to be uploaded to a bucket. If the capacity of objects to be uploaded has exceeded the preset upper limit, these objects cannot be uploaded.

A bucket quota described in the XML format is as follows:

<Quota>
<StorageQuota>value</StorageQuota>
</Quota>

A bucket quota can control object uploading only after the quota is set. If the bucket quota is less than the capacity of the uploaded objects, the existing objects will not be deleted, but new objects cannot be uploaded. Therefore, if the current quota is less than the capacity of the uploaded objects, you cannot upload new objects unless you delete the existing objects.
